Palangka Raya (Humas) The working committee for National Selection for State Universities (SNMPTN) of MAN Palangka Raya City (Mankoraya) held a socialization on "Achieving Success through SNMPTN 2021", Tuesday (12/1/2021).

This activity is carried out to facilitate students  of XII grades who wish to enter state universities through the SNMPTN or SBMPTN (Joint Selection to Enter State Universities) entrances.

The head of Mankoraya H. Ahd Fauzi advised class XII students to choose a major according to their talents and interests, not based on following friends, he said. Besides that, the college or department chosen must be consulted with parents, especially regarding the tuition fees later, said H. Ahd Fauzi.

This socialization activity was attended by students of class XII, especially majoring in Science, Social Sciences and Language. From the information on the Higher Education Entrance Test Institute (LTMPT) account, registration for the LTMPT account is open from January 4 to February 1, 2021. Meanwhile, SNMPTN registration will be held on February 15 to February 24, 2021.

Identification Number (NISN) that has been synchronized with the Education Management Information System (EMIS),said Rusdi.

For students who can not create their LPTM account due to an invalid NISN problem,they should immediately report themselves to the operator by bringing a copy of their family card,a diploma of their SMP/MTS and identification card,said Rusdi.

In filling in data and entering photos when creating an LTMPT account, ensure that it is in accordance with the filling instructions, make sure to enter an active cellphone number and create an easy-to-remember account passport with a variety of numbers and letters, explained Rusdi.

If the LTMPT account has been created, then the account is used as an entry point to register for SNMPT, SBMPTN, and UTBK (Computer based written exam), Rusdi concluded.

Meanwhile, the second speaker, Horman emphasized more on guidance in determining college and department choices. “Before deciding on a college you must communicate with your parents, so that in the future you will not encounter problems, either difficulties in college or difficulties in financing,” said Horman.
In addition, the chosen major must be in accordance with your abilities, don't force yourself  to enter the department you want, while your abilities are inadequate, said Horman. "Choose a tertiary institution that is affordable with financing that is in accordance with the parents' income, he concluded.
This socialization was also filled with questions and answers, as asked by Iwan Andreano, “can students who pass SNMPTN  be replaced by other students, if he withdraws himself from registration? Horman immediately responded to this, that other students could not replace their friends who passed the test even though he withdrew.
There was also  who asked about  the availability of available quota. The quota accepted at SNMPTN in 2021 is 40% of the total number of students, namely 58 people majoring in Science and 77 people majoring in Social Sciences and Language.

From this year's SNMPTN flow, it is only given to students majoring in Science, Social Sciences and Language with a passing percentage of 40% of the number who registered. The madrasah will first rank the report card scores through the existing system, after which students who have registered for SNMPTN will be selected again in accordance with the provisions of the college where they registered. The announcement of the SNMPTN results will be issued on March 22, 2021. (Asdi)
